BAADER Schmidt-Cassegrain SC 203/2032 Triband-SCT 8″ (ΟΤΑ)

The Baader 8″ Triband-SCT is a high-end telescope designed for detailed solar observations in H-alpha, Calcium-K, and white light, while also supporting narrowband deep-sky astrophotography. Based on the trusted Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain design, it features a Triband-ERF-coated Schmidt corrector plate, integrating an energy rejection filter directly into the optics—eliminating the need for expensive separate front ERFs.

High-resolution solar observing

The Triband-ERF coating provides selective transmission windows at 380–400 nm (CaK), 480–515 nm (Continuum, H-beta, O-III), and 630–680 nm (H-alpha, S-II). UV radiation below 380 nm and IR above 680 nm (up to 1450 nm) is effectively blocked, ensuring thermal protection and image clarity.

This design makes it fully compatible with SolarSpectrum H-alpha and CaK filters, without requiring additional D-ERF filters. Rear-ventilated thermal shields prevent internal heating, maintaining optical performance during solar use.

Versatility and compatibility

Perfect for high-resolution visual and imaging applications, the Triband-SCT supports standard Baader and Celestron accessories like the Baader Herschel Wedge, ASTF front filters, and all common narrowband filters (H-alpha, O-III, S-II, H-beta, RGB, UHC).

Deep-Sky night use

At night, simply switch to regular star diagonals and eyepieces to enjoy detailed narrowband deep-sky observations. The Triband coating does not interfere with typical deep-sky filters, making this optical tube a true multi-purpose astronomical tool.
