Askar 160APO – Triplet Apochromatic Refractor 160mm f/7
The new Askar 160APO is a professional apochromatic refractor designed for advanced astrophotography and wide-field visual observation. With its 160mm aperture and 1120mm focal length, this instrument provides excellent light gathering, delivering bright, detailed, and high-contrast images.
The optical system adopts an air-spaced triplet apochromatic configuration, with one ED (low dispersion) glass element, ideal for minimizing chromatic aberration and maintaining accurate colors and sharp details even at high magnifications.
The optical tube is compact and robust: the total length with the hood retracted is only 883 mm, while the net weight of the OTA is 11.4 kg, making it transportable for those who practice astrophotography even in mobile locations.
The 3.5″ rack-and-pinion focuser with dual speed and 1:10 gear ratio ensures precise focusing even with heavy accessories. It features a built-in 360° rotator with graduated scale for easy framing when shooting.
The 160APO is compatible with optional 1x field flatteners and 0.8x reducers, increasing its versatility for both photography and visual observation. The maximum achievable magnitude is 12.79.
