The ColourMagic C Duo-band filter, designed specifically for deep-sky imaging in astrophotography, consists of the Hα+OⅢ Duo-band filter referred to as “C1” and the SⅡ+OⅢ designated as “C2.” Together, they form the comprehensive ColourMagic C 2″ Duo-band filter package.
Employing the ColourMagic C duo-band filter package significantly enhances image contrast, facilitating the revelation of intricate features in objects that might be challenging to capture otherwise. This filter package proves particularly effective in capturing high-quality deep-sky images, even in regions affected by urban light pollution and various other light sources.
The combination of the Hα+OⅢ Duo-band filter labeled “C1” and the SⅡ+OⅢ filter known as “C2” in the ColourMagic C Duo-band filter package allows color camera users to capture astrophotographs without the need for a mono camera and H/S/O narrowband filters. This not only simplifies the process but also adds an element of enjoyment to the astrophotography experience.
This filter allows light emitted by ionized oxygen atoms (OIII) and sulfur (SII) to pass through. By exposing both spectral ranges simultaneously, it is possible to take great shots without the need for filter wheels or a dedicated set of separate filters.
Note! The Askar Colour Magic C2 Duo-band 2″ filter is not recommended for visual observations. Under no circumstances should it be used as a solar filter.
