The Sky-Watcher Evostar DS Pro series features high-end telescopes with a doublet lens. One lens element is made from high quality Japanese Ohara FPL-53 Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass. This virtually eliminates chromatic aberration to provide faithful colour rendition. Glass from Schott is used for the crown glass element.
The state-of-the-art dielectric coating on each air-glass lens surface guarantees optimal light transmission. In this case, approximately 99.5% light transmission is achieved with the anti-reflective metallic coating. The Sky-Watcher’s own ‘Metallic High Transmission Coating’ (MHC) is one of the best in its field.
With this telescope, you get a high-quality all-rounder. You will appreciate the focuser, with its fine reduction-gearing, when using the telescope for astrophotography. Even bright planets show no annoying colour fringing when visually observing. And you benefit from the high definition a refractor telescope provides – details on the Moon and planets are very clearly seen, double stars can be clearly separated, and the stars are pin-sharp!
