Compact refractor for wide-field observing and astrophotography
With the StarTravel refractor, you can marvel at large-scale celestial objects in all their splendour. Star clusters, nebulae and galaxies appear especially high in contrast thanks to the two-lens system and the aperture ratio of f/5, which is perfect for visual observing and for astrophotography. The name says it all; due to its lightweight design, it fits in every travel bag – a perfect addition to your mobile equipment set-up.
Skywatcher Startravel 120 mm (4.7″) Refractor with 600 mm focal length
Skywatcher Startravel telescopes are achromatic air-spaced 2-element refractors which are perfectly suited for rich-field observations of comets, star clouds, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. At the same time the telescope with its length of only approx. 660 mm and a weight of 4.1 kg (OTA) is still very portable.
This wide-field telescope with its short tube can also be used for astrophotography or daytime photography. The fast aperture ratio makes it ideal for photographing the moon and solar eclipses, but also for nature photography. With its universal dovetail bar, the telescope can be attached to mounts with EQ5 style saddle plate, but also directly to photo tripods.
For observing moon or planets, we recommend the Baader Contrast Booster. This filter reduces the chromatic aberration and increases the contrast. You can also use the filter for photography.
