Starizona Field Corrector and Focal Reducer 0.63x for all Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes
We have tested many correctors for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes and this corrector has become the test winner. With this corrector, serious astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters and galaxies with Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes becomes a success. The image quality even in the corners improves dramatically and the exposure time decreases to 40%.
That well works the Starizona corrector compared to standard f/6.3 reducers:
Thze image shows the stars at the edge with a Canon EOS full-frame camera. With the Starizona corrector, the stars are finer, smaller, and the limiting magnitude improves.
The effect is visible even with smaller sensors. Currently, we do not know a corrector with comparably good properties at the Schmidt-Cassegrain.
The advantages and features of the Starizona SCT 0.63x corrector:
- Focal length reduced to 0.63x
- 27 mm illumination at optimal correction
- 2″ barrel size
- Suitable for all Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes from Celestron and Meade
- 90.3 mm working distance
- Filter thread for 2″ (48 mm) filters
- Camera side thread: T2 (M42x0.75) male thread
- Fully multi-coated for maximal contrast – no reflexions from bright stars
- Made in USA
Connection to the telescope and adaption at the camera side:
If you use a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope for astrophotography, we always recommend an additional focuser. Focusing becomes more accurate and also more easy. The Starizona SCT corrector is simply connected via the 2″ receptacle of the focuser.
From the connecting thread at the camera side of the corrector to the optimal focus position, you have ca. 90 mm working distance, so there is enough space for off-axis guider, filter wheel and, of course, for DSLR cameras.
