Takahashi Mewlon-180C – Compact, High-Precision Dall-Kirkham Reflector Telescope
The Takahashi Mewlon-180C is the most compact model in the prestigious Dall-Kirkham Mewlon series of reflectors , designed to offer outstanding optical quality with a long focal ratio of F/12 . The optical configuration features an ellipsoidal primary mirror and a spherical secondary mirror , ensuring excellent aberration correction and outstanding sharpness, with a surface precision of at least λ/20 .
Thanks to its portability (only 6.2 kg) and short optical tube length (625 mm), the Mewlon-180C can be used on compact mounts, making it ideal for those looking for a high-quality telescope without compromising on portability. Focusing via the translation of the primary mirror is smooth and precise, offering perfect control during observations.
The f/12 focal ratio makes it perfect for high-resolution planetary astrophotography , but it also proves versatile for deep-sky observing. The telescope features a built-in adjustable 6×30 finderscope , which also serves as a convenient carrying handle.
Included in the package are two Vixen dovetail adapters (one male and one female), for immediate compatibility with most mounts.
