After the success of the RC optical design telescopes, GSO is introducing a series of F12 Cassegrains designed primarily for visual observers or for high-resolution imaging.
The smallest model is a 6″ at F12, with a linear obstruction of 33%: this low value combined with the internal diaphragms and the excellent optical workmanship make it particularly suitable for planetary and lunar observation and imaging. Thanks to the not excessively high focal ratio and the 99% reflective treatment, deep-sky performance is excellent; in fact, a 25mm eyepiece is enough to have a magnification of 74x.
Combined with a focal reducer such as the 0.67X Tecnosky shows off interesting capabilities even in deep-sky photography on medium-sized sensors (for example QHY163). 3 giant M90 extensions are supplied to facilitate focusing. The proposed focuser is a 2″ Crayford with micrometric reduction and 31.8mm reducer.
