The ToupTek SHO Filter Set 1.25″ – 6.5nm Bandwidth is a precision narrowband filter set designed for astronomical imaging of emission nebulae with monochrome CCD and CMOS cameras. This set includes three interference filters dedicated to the main emission lines in the visible spectrum:

  • H-Alpha (656.28 nm ± 0.3 nm)
  • [O III] (500.7 nm & 495.9 nm ± 0.3 nm)
  • [S II] (671.6 nm & 673.1 nm ± 0.3 nm)

Each filter has a narrow bandwidth of just 6.5 nm , allowing you to perfectly isolate the spectral line of interest, blocking light pollution and unwanted background radiation. This is particularly advantageous under polluted skies and when the Moon is present.

Recommended uses:

  • Hubble Palette (SHO) images with color palette Hα = green, OIII = blue, SII = red.
  • Excellent for diffuse nebulae (Orion, Heart, Rosette), planetary nebulae (M27, Helix) and supernova remnants (Veil of Cygnus).
  • Essential for anyone wanting to work in narrowband from urban/suburban sites.
