Περιγραφή
The ARTEC series of astrographs represents a new way of understanding the telescope thanks to cutting-edge manufacturing techniques combined with the use of top-level optics with equally high quality standards.
The ARTEC project was born in 2011 from the intuition of Stefano Seveso, owner of Artesky, and then developed with our engineer Flavio Simeone.
We designed the ARTEC series for a market of particularly demanding astrophotographers who are interested in ease and stability of collimation, quality optics and easy repeatability of results.
To achieve these goals we realized that we could not just look at the telescope as a separate entity but had to consider it as part of a much more complex acquisition system.
Many years have passed since the first prototype, during which the ARTEC series has been improved in terms of design and production; we certainly will not stop here, we are always looking for construction techniques and engineering solutions to improve our line of astrographs.

DESIGNED FOR HARMONIC SETUPS – only 10.8kg!
The ARTEC 200, our 200mm aperture Newtonian astrograph, is the ideal product for entering the ARTEC world and using a high-level astronomical telescope, entirely made in Italy with specialized labor and with unique attention to detail.
Our astrograph uses the classic Newtonian optical scheme with a native focal length of F/4.0 using a parabolic primary mirror in aluminized Quartz and treated with a reflectivity greater than 95%, the secondary mirror undergoes the same treatment and process.
Its size and light weight make the ARTEC 200EZ the ideal instrument for the itinerant amateur astronomer always looking for dark skies. Its ease of transport and above all the reliability of maintaining collimation, thanks to the very well-engineered mechanics, make it preferable to instruments usually more commonly used such as refractors or Cassegrain systems.
Simply using a harmonic mount like the AM5 ZWO (without counterweights) is enough to obtain excellent guiding performance with an instrument of this size!
In the photo below an example of assembly of the ARTEC 200EZ with AM5N and Artesky column (not included in the delivery)

The optics
The ARTEC series uses only optics that match the telescope’s superb construction, with a typical reflectivity greater than 95%, correction equal to or greater than λ/8, and a Strehl ratio greater than or equal to 0.95.
The conical quartz primary mirror ensures stability by avoiding lateral translations and a reduced presence of glass in order to optimize acclimatization.
Included with this lens is a 1.14x coma corrector that will give you a focal length of 912mm and a resulting focal ratio of F/4.5.
The resulting illuminated field using the included corrector will be 55mm.

Every detail counts
Our astrograph is entirely made and assembled in Italy. We take care of every little detail, for example, every screw we use to assemble the instrument is made of 316 stainless steel; these are polished before assembly to ensure a bright and shiny finish.
Each astrograph is fully tested by our specialized technicians before delivery to our customers, each telescope must meet our high quality standards before becoming Your ARTEC.
The mechanics
We use cutting-edge optical and mechanical design software for the design, which is why the ARTEC series offers optimized optics capable of achieving unprecedented levels of rigidity. All metal parts are machined in Italy from 6061 aluminum using CNC machines and laser cutting to ensure high precision and accuracy, ease of use, and stable collimation of the final product.
Our astrograph guarantees precise focusing over a wide temperature range, thus limiting the amateur astronomer’s repeated focusing operations to a minimum, an important condition when using instruments with very short focal lengths for long imaging sessions.
All mechanical components are manufactured using only the finest materials available, such as lightweight aluminum, steel, and bronze.
The secondary support was cut using the laser-cut technique to ensure rigidity and ease of use.
The special anodization was chosen to offer unbeatable resistance to all weather conditions, even the most adverse.
Finally, the generous extraction of the focal plane allows the use of most optical trains on the market, obviously including dedicated accessories also for remote locations.
The ARTEC 200EZ uses the Prodigy 3″ Microfocuser focuser specially modified to make it compatible with our system and compatible with ZWO’s ASIAIR, this focuser provides a load capacity of 9.5kg without any torsion or flexure of the optical train.
The focuser is connected, on the telescope side, to a special base made with a very generous tilt adjustment system; this allows for very fine adjustments so as to always have a perfect focal plane.
On the camera side, the astrograph is supplied with our ROAS – Rotation On Axis System; this system allows manual rotation and full flatness of the optical train thus mounted.
The adapters for the ROAS system are interchangeable and can be custom-made for our customers.
The ROAS mount supplied with the telescope is a male M54x0.75 thread.
To lighten the system, aluminum tie rods have been introduced between the two rings and a 200mm Losmandy bar has been used, this allows for a significantly lighter tube without sacrificing the typical solidity of the ARTEC.

Carbon
In our vision, carbon was chosen not so much for its weight savings, but above all for its thermal stability and structural rigidity.
The carbon tube is made by an Italian company specializing in the construction of carbon fiber materials for the automotive and aerospace sectors.
For our astrographs we have chosen to use a high-quality material, therefore we only use tubes made entirely of solid carbon and not sandwich systems with foam fillers.
The carbon fiber tube used to make our instruments is treated in special machines and in an autoclave before being polished and given a final matt finish on the outside.
Our telescopes are treated internally with a dustproof surface treatment that ensures complete blackening and prevents any internal reflections. Furthermore, the internal surface is not smooth but rough, thus avoiding humidity-related problems.
